WVELA18 Discovering The Power of Place

I was thoroughly captivated by the plenary sessions. Knowing that there are artists and writers from Appalachia and WV who have so much to offer our students was eye-opening. Sharing some of their work with my students on my return from the conference was an awesome learning experience. Students are interested in these native voices who are concerned with “our” issues and experiences.
